Great issue, Susan!
The first page started me giggling and the rest was, by turns, enjoyable, touching and informative. The final and overall impression is always how well loved our basenjis are.

We have had an exciting week at Casa MacPack. Nicky has been not feeling great for several weeks, but symptoms were vague, had an apt with my vet as soon as he gets back from vacation.

Last weekend we adopted a wonderful 4-5 year old black and white BRAT boy, Chipley, who has blended into our home and routine seamlessly. Both Eddie and Nicky like him a lot! Which is good, because on Tuesday Nicky really went downhill and had to go to the vet ER/Specialists over in Largo.
She was diagnosed with pancreatitis and stayed in the ICU for 2 days then improved so much they sent her home, rather than the 5 days we had anticipated. ....Something about becoming 'very vocal' around 4 am Thursday, and trying to tear apart the cage! She is home eating 4 small meals a day and content with her family. The new kid, Chipley, really was concerned about her and curled up by her on the couch, now she will seek him out and cuddle with him. How cool is that? So all is good with us, back to being a 3-basenji family, (2 tris and the new black and white), Nicky is improving every day, we are a little poorer but my girl's health is priceless!
Follow up apt with specialist is next Thursday, so I will be baking cookies Wednesday night for that great team. It was a good feeling to drive away knowing my girl was in excellent hands and if anyone could save her, they could. I hope next week is not as exciting as last week was!..............................................ANN MACMILLAN

Out for a walk with Dream yesterday, we met a woman and a man on their bikes. As we turned up our driveway, I overheard the woman say "What a pretty puppy!"
Dream is 13.8 years young, and yes Lady, she is a very pretty puppy.
