Sue,

Just got home and found the Wrinkler in my mailbox. I read it from cover to cover and then I read it again.

I'm so glad to have joined your club, as it gives me a sense of belonging and I'm grateful to you for letting me be a part of it.

Hi Susan,

I got your Wrinkler and I can’t remember if I thanked you for including me in the issue and printing the funny pictures of Sanji.  It was great to read all the articles, wins, passings, the stories, pictures, and more.  How do you squeeze so much into so little space?

My application and for membership in the Rip Van Wrinkle Basenji Club for July 1st 2009-July 1st 2010 is on it’s way.

Thank you so much for thinking of me………..MARJ BAKER

It was interesting reading the Wrinkler - dog lumps are abounding!  Andiamo went to the doggie doc two weeks ago - had her bumps looked at - both stuck with needles, one okay, the other had high white blood cells - so she is on antibiotics - some infection it seems - nothing to worry about - but the antibiotics make her leaky, and give her diarrhea - so I was on doggie butt duty today. ...........................………………...................TAMARA E. Annechien:

BTW That special box I brought Damia to Germany in and that Uschi lent me, did that come from you, Karen? It fits under the seat in a plane. It was wonderful! As soon as I got at Marita's and put it on the floor, the puppies crept in it!

Moot:

Annechien, possibly yes -- if it's the box Shakka went home in so long ago. I'm delighted to see it continuing its mission of sending baby basenjis to new homes! I bought it to take Laser home with me to Colorado 11 years ago. It's had some nice soft, unlaund-ered shirts and some pups in it, so I suspect it seemed pretty friendly to new puppies.

Annechien:

Yes it is Karen! I have a very cute picture of two tiny basenji girls fast asleep in it. I used kind of large nappy pads - soft and dry. But she stayed very clean, as basenjis do!

The box is back with Uschi, maybe for a next time. I have never seen a box like that before, it fitted perfectly under the seat and I could put my hand in now and again to reassure her.

Moot:

Laser snoozed quietly in it, in the plane, as well.

Hi Susan,

The Wrinkler came today, hooray!  You do such a good job with it, make it so informative and fun, both.  I can't wait for Jim to come home to see he won a Best Dog Show Memory contest.

Having a lovely time in Seattle.  It's like a different life, which, in a way, it is. Amazing, how the girls just took to city life without a blink, and are perfectly content without being able to go outside whenever they want.……………………………..CHRIS MAXKA

Hello Susan,

Just got the new Wrinkler.  Great as always with some good stories, articles and pics.  Thanks for the condolences to Nika. I was really laughing at the 3 shot series of Sanji Baker in the Basenji Round Beds section all cramped in that cat perch. I wish I had those pics on the computer to show some friends as it’s too funny. Basenjis do the funniest things and if you can catch it on camera it’s a treasure.

I think it’s very good having the article on the thyroid. I would have never even known about it if you had not mentioned it years ago because the vets never say anything.

I’m dog proofing around the perimeter of the fence today. I don’t want to chance any escape attempts. Just to be safe I’ll crate him for a week or so while I’m gone during the day. Even when my others happened to get out they stayed and hung out in the front anyway.

Hope all is well…………………………...................DAN SAILOR
