LASER

Laser under the Fringe

Laser is a mucking fonkey: he just tried to shred a paper shopping bag full of lavender stems/leaves I cut down finally -- I kept the green ones for a friend to use for crafts. The more he shredded the more he got turned on by the lavender, the more he shredded, etc. Then he fell over, and lay on his side, "swimming" for a minute, w/ a big grin on his mug.

Laser is totally in love with himself when he gets a MOS bath. Oh, well, he's totally in love with himself all the time, but he totally delights in smelling good. I remember panicking when he was a pup and drank the MOS-water in the bucket while I was washing the floor. But he really just wanted to wear that great fragrance!

Pups are happy to be home, Xander ran off with my bath towel and Trog unpacked my bags. My little helpers. Girls (whippets) went to bed and said the heck with us.

PSYCHOLOGICAL WAR

OK, just ONCE a big spoon of macaroni missed the ovendish and fell on the floor.

Now there seems to be a psychological war going on every-time a "pasta scent" is detected in the kitchen, resulting in Ch'ami and Dana trying to get me to loose my balance, hoping. . .

If that doesn't work, they try telekinesis.  Somehow I seem to loose my self-confidence in the kitchen.

PS - This is how Dana ruins the pillows of our couch.

We bought two new sofas a few years back at Ikea with covers I can change but unfortunately I discovered - too late - only dry-cleanable. They were nice and tall behind our backs, now they are kind of flattened and twisted.

Our third sofa has a short hard back and simple loose cushions, so that stays alive, but they can't look out of the window from that one (disaster!!!). It stands in the middle of the room, so no need to climb up.  I think the only solution is a Chesterfield leather sofa and cover it with whatever. Anyone have other solutions?

Polly has taken to standing in front of our insert (chimney with wood fire behind glass); Damia showed her just once, and she does it all the time now.

They are silly beasties and these two youngsters discover new things all of the time. Yesterday, Polly/Damia climbed on the kitchen table and onto the work counter and got hold of my best expensive showlead...

I love the kicky fits... Newton has them regularly, especially in the papasan chair.  Bella does more of a roll on back, jerk whole body once, and then click her paws over and over, jerk again, etc.

I did find Andiamo likes the yellow car (Tweety) - the gratuitous rear seats fold down to make a shelf so she sits back there with ears flat, like Sally Field in the flying nun -- ready for take off. She also enjoys that the car is low to the ground so she can literally walk up on the hood, then walk up to the roof - I turned to say Hi to Howard the neighbor and she did this little walkabout - Howard wanted to know if she was our radar detector.

IN SINK (AMBER’S SINK DIVING)

We lived in Westminster when this was taken.  She was looking for food.  The good thing about this was I got the dishes done & food put away after every meal.

“No scraps? No problem! I’ll find some myself.”

See article about Amber

{Ed. My Hip Hop learned not to do this when she hopped up in a messy friend's kitchen into a COLD WET PILE of soaking dishes.  It was noisy & WET.  She was behaviour modified & never tried it again.}

I have to start and finish the walk with Opal on lead, as the most popular run for her has to walk along public roads (but they are not busy roads). It is a linear park alongside a disused railway line and goes for about a 1.5 miles. She can free run there, and not get into too much mischief, but gets to check out the interesting smells and run flat out to catch up. As she runs past me, the pounding of her feet on the ground is eerie, - like a drumming.

Oh the times I thought one of my dogs wanted to snuggle with me to show me just how much I was loved--until I remembered there was a wrapper in my pocket."
