Trog in the storm, or Sounds of the Evening Storm by Joe Stewart
For all my friends in Oklahoma and Kansas, hoping you are safe, and stay safe has the storms develop.
Here's what I heard.
Pitterpatterpitterpatter (The sound of the rain on the roof)
BOOM!! (The thunderclap as lightning strikes near)
Muffled%$^!!! Noise (Lisa’s protest against Trog’s exit from the bed).
ClicketyclackClickteyclack (The sound of Trog’s rapid progress down the hall).
“The most intense area is over Rolla at this time” (The sound of the TV weatherman)
WonkWonkWonk (The sound of the weather alert app from my iPhone)
SNORT!!!!!! (The sound of Trog’s arrival)
ErrrrrrRRRRRRRRRRRR! (The sound of Tempest’s greeting)
Owhhhh! (The sound in response to Trog’s front paw slapping my face)
ErrrrRRRRRRRR!! (The sound of Tempest as Trog’s circles on my chest and flops across my neck)
Grindgrindgrind (The sound of Trog’s teeth)
Uhuhuhuhuhuhuh (The sound of Trog’s breathing)
Thumpathumpathumpa (The sound of Trog’s heartbeat)
Snoooooore (The sound of a swaddled Trog across my throat)
Ribbetribbetribbet (The sound of frog’s reporting the storm’s has passed)
Pfffft (The sound that Trog has also passed)
