Basenjis seem to have a bit of a kleptomania problem smile emoticon I learned with Nora to give her a spot to stash her treasures - then when I was missing something, I knew where to find it. Sunny seems to be taking the same route.

Susan K-M Uncle Liner stole Ziva Brittany's duck at agility class.

Passero - That guy could connect. Dogs, cats, birds, deer....oh, yeah, and his ground hog. I'd come out in the morning to feed, and there Pas would be, he and Phil, standing side by side, Phil on his hind legs, both facing east and the rising sun.

Yvonne 't Mannetje

We have only been training a couple of times. Lola does agility, and she does it well I must say. I was bragging about her to Kees 2 weeks ago, so he decided to take time off and come to the class with us to film her.

Well, that didn't work at all ....Lola was so excited he came along, she kept on running from the course to Kees. He decided to leave so we could all go on with the training, but I had to work so hard to get her attention back, because she kept on searching for him. Which was a good excercise on its own, we did it, and had a super great 10 last minutes

And manual labor continues tomorrow. Fence that blew down - guys came to fix it - took down old stuff. Dennis helped set new posts. Fellow at end of today says "okay see you Monday". Dennis says, "no way - gotta get the backyard secure." So, Team Allen will be on it tomorrow. I foresee black thumbs in my future. smile emoticon

Karen Christensen - I have to totally love anyone who understands dogs don't know about weekends....

Susan K-M

So, 2 Gilda things - 1. she loves peanut butter,

& 2. she is so puzzled by me taking a bubble bath that I for sure thought she was jumping in. Instead she sat neatly on a pile of folded towels on a shelf, & over-see'd. When I emerged she made a huge ears flapped back yodel.

Melissa Suter Hahaha - sweet puppy!

Kim McNeill How adorable. When she was a wee pup, I used to always give Miss Zest! a special chewie when I took my shower. So now, even at 9 years old, she will often run into the bathroom in anticipation of me taking a shower. (BTW, the new house has a clawfoot slipper tub.

Jackie Dering So cute. Btw, Harley won't eat anything with peanut butter in it

Brenda Phillips I don't think I had taken a bath since the puppies were born, but last night with my not-yet-a-cold I needed a good soak. to my surprise, Zippie joined me without hesitation. And without apparent regret.

Susan Kamen Marsicano Did she swim?

Brenda Phillips Well, there wasn't room for that....

Chris O'Rear Kiwi would join me in the tub, and I could tell when she was relaxed because her head would be on my shoulder and her little behind would bob up as she started to float on that end.

Natalie Culver Like Gilda I LOVE that peanut butter from your store - 1st real pb I ever had & was so yummy, when all my life before I had hated pb (oily jiffy/skippy kind...), but unlike Gilda I wouldn't need to join your bubble bath.

Susan Kamen Marsicano

I met a nice woman at an agility trial who told me the story of something that had happened way back in 1969. She was in Chicago for the International Dog Show, just after the Chicago convention riots and everyone was "on edge". At the show, a group of basenjis began howling, and the sound alarmed the already anxious crowd.

Margaret Howes

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. Another year older and a lot less bolder...sigh

THE LINE

She leaves her dog to feel the stares. She continues on where no one dares.

She turns she signals. Away he goes, the jump, dogwalk, a stop he knows.

They are off again you see, jumping over, then seesaw he sees. She hears the slam, he stops to look. Ahead he sees the weaves to do, for some a dread. Not for him.

His pulse is quick a jump, he goes to the table and down she sees. At 5 they go a jump ahead, tunnel, then a Serp they do. Down the line the triple she sees the end is near and so he knows.

The ting of the timer he is done.

His leash in sight. He runs to get. He turns and spins, the leash in tow, and in the wake the ring gates go!

His job is done and that he knows. A Q to him he does not care, but his cookie jar, that is his treat. His mom is as proud as she should be.

Brenda Phillips

How we sit on stairs, father & daughter, with a side of terrier.

Jackie Dering

Last night we were playing fetch with Harley and noticed she took turns bringing the toy back to Ed then me. I'd noticed it before. But this was a longer game so it was impossible to miss.

Tamara Allen

They are so clean they have to work at getting dirty! And it still does not work.
