Last issue, I asked for input on Copycats, & sure enough, the October Whole Dog Journal has a piece by Pat Miller on just that:

I said, “Liner had an hour private lesson with Wendy Cerilli, at High Goal Farm, & he learned a lot, concentrated really well, & was super happy.

Fun that, at my suggestion, Fiddle came on the floor & showed him how she does the dogwalk. He had been trying it, but slowly.

Wendy held him while Fiddle did her "I fly fast over this, run all the way down", demo.

We switched dogs, & Liner ran right up there, all the way down, & back and forth and back and forth. Liner still learning the plank that moves (seesaw), but proved that he hasn't confused that with the dogwalk.”

There are so many examples of this over the last 4 decades with basenjis.

Comes to mind, back in the 70's, I was working Blush in obedience in my one room walk-up apartment, on Sullivan St., and had put her daughter, Katie, in a crate. I felt Kate's serious watching. Got her out of the crate to see what she had learned, and was not surprised to see that she had the whole routine down pat.

Joe Stewart: Everyone shake!

Yvonne 't Mannetje: Moyo won the Ronostrand Lure Coursing with 2nd best score of the day. Plus he won the Holland Coursing Cup for the males, and Dana won this for the females. Moyo won the Holland Cup and the national championships coursing as well. Moyo became "club champion" in Amsterdam, also coursing. And he won another lure coursing in Lichtenvoorde.

Ch'ami is being honoured at all events, because he turns 8 in December, and as a result of that this is his last licensed year of running and coursing. After this year he is still allowed to join the trainings, do test runs, or be the 2nd basenji at a coursing if we don't have enough b's.
